This course is for anyone wishing to know more about HIV and how to tackle HIV stigma in the workplaceDespite all the advances in clinical care, life for people living with HIV can be difficult because of stigma and discrimination.HIV stigma is often based on outdated ideas and made worse by discrimination in other areas like gender, sexuality or race. HIV Confident members make a commitment to ensure that people living with HIV can access their services and work for them without fear of discrimination. HIV Confident members commit to:Increasing employee knowledge about HIVImproving employee attitudes towards people living with HIVTackling stigma and discrimination within their organisationProviding people living with HIV a way to report any stigma or discrimination they experience.Learning outcomes for the training: Knowledge: At the end of the training, learners will be able to describe HIV transmission routes and U=U.Attitude/Behaviour: At the end of the training learners will have an increased level of commitment to creating and sustaining a stigma-free environment for people living with HIV.Confidence: At the end of the training, learners will be able to identify stigma and discriminating behaviours towards people with HIV and know how to speak up and challenge them.
